Is a Japanese PS5 worth owning despite paying less money?

The console costs ¥55,000 + ¥11,980 (disc drive) = ¥66,980 ($425) for the region locked one (日本語専用) comes in midnight black since that remains exclusive to Japan, even after I’ve paid for international shipping via a forwarding agent: would the console be exempted from taxes when it arrives?

Also, the console with disc drive included adds to around $748 with sales tax accounted for on the Western version (which isn’t the midnight black variant, rather than standard white model). I won’t lie, it looks cool to own since this color variant isn’t available outside Japan and rather save $300.
